New Hampshire is a camper’s paradise. RV full-timers and weekend warriors alike travel the highways throughout the summer to reach their destinations on the seacoast at Hampton Beach, or the White Mountains, or fun-filled Lake Winnipesaukee. Sometimes they don’t make it there as planned. When an RV or camper breaks down, you can’t call just any tow truck to move it. RV towing services are called in to recover that vehicle and tow it. Bailey’s is a AAA accredited RV towing service.
Bailey’s Towing and Auto Body are RV specialists. Our entire shop in Amherst New Hampshire is a body shop dedicated exclusively to RV and truck repairs. In fact, this RV body shop the largest of its kind in southern New Hampshire. So naturally, our RV towing services are known throughout southern New Hampshire and the Everett Turnpike corridor. Fortunately, very few calls that come in for RV towing services are the result of a crash. Most often it’s a mechanical failure or similar breakdown. We are the go-to RV towing company for local RV dealers who perform a wide variety of mechanical repairs on motor homes and RVs.
Bigger and bulkier. The laws of physics are the same in RV towing and recovery – only on a much bigger scale. An average car weighs about 4,000 pounds. An average motor home can weigh between 13,000 and 30,000 pounds. RVs are also top-heavy. An RV collision is even more complicated, because belongings and appliances may have shifted inside the cabin, changing leverage points. Most Class A motorhomes have minimal ground clearance and storage compartments or mechanical systems mounted underneath. Even a simple tow across town can require a lot of set up work and securing before it can be ready to tow away.
Special equipment, special training. In addition to our heavy-duty three axle tow truck, Bailey’s recovery units are also equipped with under reachstabilizers that help our drivers secure these behemoths for road travel. All of our drivers have been through numerous training and certification programs, and are encouraged by the company the pursue continuing education. Bailey’s has even hosted training events put on by well respected, nationally known RV towing instructors. Tow truck driver certification is not required in the state of New Hampshire – but at Bailey’s we require it. We see it as just doing our part to make the highways as safe as possible.
